To improve the color and texture of your skin without surgery, intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy is an option. This treatment can undo some of the visible damage caused by sun exposure that people often notice on their face, neck, hands, or chest. If you have red, brown, or splotchy skin because of a health condition, IPL may help. Today, we at Open Door Med Spa would like to continue discussing intense pulsed light.
How Does IPL Work?
To target a certain color in your skin, IPL uses light energy. To get rid of the skin damage you’re being treated for, your body gets rid of the unwanted cells when the skin is heated. An IPL device sends out more than one wavelength of pulsating light unlike lasers. At the same time, it can treat a range of skin conditions. Because your skin tone is more even you may look younger after IPL. You can get better quickly since the light doesn’t hurt other tissue.
What Does IPL Treat?
If you have pale or light brown skin, this treatment is especially effective.
